The West Indies will host the 2010 Twenty20 World Cup. Three Caribbean nations have been selected to host T20 World Cup matches, with Barbados, St. Lucia and Guyana sharing the hosting duties for the tournament.

Kensington Oval – Barbados

The Kensignton Oval in Barbados will host the bulk of the matches at the 2010 T20 World Cup. Barbados stood out for its excellent attendance figures during the 2007 World Cup of Cricket, and the Kensington Oval is once again expected to be packed to capacity for all the biggest matches at the 2010 T20 World Cup. This stadium will host the final of the 2010 T20 World Cup.

Distinctive Features: The Kensington Oval, sometimes described as the ‘Mecca of cricket’ is best known for its pulsating, party atmosphere and knowledgeable crowd. Thanks to upgrades prior to the 2007 World Cup, the stadium now boasts distinctive architectural features, which include the Worrell, Weekes and Walcott Stand – a structure modeled on the famous media stand at Lords in England.

The Providence Stadium – Guyana

Guayana’s Providence Stadium was constructed specifically to host matches during the 2007 Cricket World Cup. The 15,000 capacity ground is the most advanced cricket stadium on the South American mainland, and boasts excellent press and spectator facilities. The stadium will only host group stage matches during the 2010 T20 World Cup.

Distinctive Features: Located near the Demerara River, the Providence Stadium is known for its perfect outfield and bowler-friendly wicket. The stadium forms a perfect circle, and has distinctive roofs that arch well over the spectator stands.

Beausejour Stadium – St. Lucia

The Beausejour Stadium in St. Lucia will host a number of Super 8 matches during the 2010 T20 World Cup as well as the tournament semifinals. The stadium can accommodate 20,000 spectators and is equipped with floodlights, allowing it to host day/night matches.

Distinctive Features: The Beausejour Stadium is located at the base of the Beausejour Hills on Gros Islet in St. Lucia, and is know for its distinctive, idyllic location.
