Cricket World Cup Qualification
Qualification for the 2011 Cricket World Cup is automatic for all test- playing nations. The teams regularly participate in both test and one day international series against the top ranked teams in the sport, and as such represent the serious contenders for the Cricket World Cup title.
Qualifying test playing nations include:

Sri Lanka
Zimbabwe
2009 ICC World Cup Qualifier
A re-branded and re-packaged ICC Trophy will be used to determine the remaining four contestants for the 2011 Cricket World Cup. The tournament, to be played in South Africa in April 2009, provides developing cricket nations with an exciting opportunity to participate in a major knockout tournament.
The six top placed teams at the 2009 ICC World Cup qualifier will be awarded one day international status for the next four years by the ICC, while the semi-finalists will all be awarded a place at the 2011 Cricket World Cup. The final, semi-finals as well as 3rd and 5th place playoffs of the 2009 ICC World Cup Qualifier will be recognised as official One Day Internationals by the ICC.
