The combinations of dice totals are divided into two basic categories:

• A round ends immediately if the dice total equals 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12. A result of 2, 3, 12 is called craps, while a result of 7, 11 is called a win or a natural.
• A point is scored if the player rolls 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. When a point is rolled, the shooter can roll the dice again, continuing the round. Point values may not be repeated, and the round ends when the same point value is rolled twice.

Playing Craps for Beginners - Basic Betting

Fire bet: This is the easiest bet to place on a craps game. By placing a fire bet, the players bets that the shooter will manage to roll the dice more than four time in the round. Once the shooter has passed the fourth point, fire bets start to pay out at increasingly high odds.

Line bets: Line bets involve betting on or against the shooter rolling a win, craps or a point. These bets can be placed at any stage of a round and the contingencies can become quite complex as a round goes on.
