There are a couple of techniques of counting cards these are the two most popular:
1. Hi-low counting – this strategy of counting cards is a very effective strategy but requires some experience as it is a little more complex. The numbers of the cards are valued, and the as the cards are dealt, whether to the dealer, yourself or other players, the sum of the values are calculated. The 10 and the ace= -1, 7,8,9, =0, 2,3,4,5,6=1. Deciding is based on the “running count”. If the running count percentage is high, the probability of 10′s and aces are high (as they are minuses). If the running count percentage is 0 then no one has an advantage. And if the running count percentage is low, the probability of getting a card from the lows is higher.
2. Casual counting – just as the name suggests, this is a more simple way of keeping track of the cards dealt, and doesn’t require such complex strategies and theories. All the player has to do is monitor the cards being dealt and based on instinct and observation. If he sees that more faced cards are dealt then obviously the probability of the next cards will be of the lower ones.
So just when you thought you figured out how to gain in blackjack, counting cards has proven to increase chance by only 1% average profit. It is a difficult system that is usually unappreciated by land casinos and will get you kicked out if noticed.
Also in betting there are a few theories:
1. Progressive betting 2-level – This strategy has been proved to be very effective. Once the player decides on his minimum and maximum sum to bet, he makes his decisions based on the last round, if he won or not. For example: your minimum bet could be a $1 and you maximum $10. You start the first round on minimum bet and if you win you can treat yourself to the $10 bet. If you lose, go back to betting lower sum.
2. Progressive betting 5-level – This method is similar to the one above but with some difference. The player gradually increases his minimum bet to the higher sum, every time he wins he can bet a higher sum. If you win four times in a row, great, but you should start again from the lower sum. If you don’t win, start again.
Depending on what software the online casino uses, the strategy cards will differ, such as surrenders, doubling down allowed on certain cards, and other similar rules. Playtech software, for example, offer great odds and great payouts and the estimated house edge is 0.52%. Blackjack is played using 6 decks. Here the dealer stands on a soft 17, one is allowed to double down on split cards as well as any cards, and one can hit once on split aces. Remember however, that NO surrenders are allowed. There is also a mix of the U.S. and European rules for when a dealer gets a blackjack.
This is what the dealer does in the following situations and he has a blackjack:
