Racing at Ludlow racecourse is thought to date back to medieval times, with records of racing stretching back to the early 1700s. Set in the picturesque South Shropshire countryside, Ludlow racecourse has regularly hosted national hunt meetings since the mid 1950s and is now dedicated to jump racing. Ludlow racecourse is popular amongst racegoers for its Edwardian architecture as well as its traditional club-house ambience.

Ludlow racecourse features a steeplechase and hurdles course. The steeplechase circuit is right-handed and covers a distance of 1 mile 4 furlongs. The hurdles circuit is 1 mile 4 furlongs 120 yards long and features less severe corners than the steeplechase circuit.
