Hamilton Park racecourse is a major Scottish flat racing venue that dates back to the late 1800s. Following financial difficulties in the 1950s and 1960s, Hamilton Park racecourse emerged as one of the leading racecourses in Scotland, and was the first racecourse in the United Kingdom to host evening racing.
Hamilton Park racecourse follows a P shaped right-handed loop which can host races up to a distance of 1 mile 8 furlongs. The Hamilton Park racecourse is noted for its undulating surface and taxing run-in. The scenic grounds around the racecourse make it a popular venue for social gatherings throughout the summer flat racing season.
