The Paris Masters is the final stop on the annual Masters Series tour contested by members of the ATP Tour. The tournament is played indoors at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy on hard courts and is considered to be the most prestigious indoor tournament in the world.
Played in late October/early November, the Paris Masters is the last major tennis tournament played prior to the season ending with the Tennis Masters Cup. The tournament draws a strong field of 24 top-ranked ATP players, and is currently branded as the BNP Paribas Masters.
Paris Masters History
The Paris Masters is one of the newer events on the Masters Series tour. The first tournament was played in Paris in 1972 and won by the American Stan Smith. The tournament was dominated by American players during its early history and was also briefly suspended between 1983 and 1985.
Paris Masters Betting
The Paris Masters is undoubtedly the easiest Masters Series tournament to bet on when it comes to outright winner bets, as punters are able to draw on an entire season of tennis when it comes to predicting the form and performance of the participants.
Ante-post betting markets do not run long in advance of the tournament, and the majority of betting opportunities are restricted to the week prior to the tournament, as well as during the tournament.
Outright winner betting markets are a good place to find high odds and good betting opportunities when putting money on the Paris Masters. This is because top ranked players do not always dominate at the tournament, and several talented outsiders have managed to claim the title during the past decade.

Paris Masters Winners
The Paris Masters is one of the most challenging events on tour, even for the most seasoned professionals, and only a few players have managed to pick up multiple titles of the event. Only two players have won three titles at the tournament, with Boris Becker first achieving this feat between 1986 and 1992, and Marat Safin putting together his hat-trick of wins during the past decade.
One of the unique features of this Masters Series tournament is that it has seldom favoured the dominant players of any particular era. Pete Sampras only managed to win the tournament twice, while Stefan Edberg only claimed the Paris Masters winners title once. The event is one of the few major tennis tournaments which Roger Federer has never won.
