Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel makes his F1 debut at the Nuerburgring on Sunday and is determined to give the partisan crowd something to cheer about.
The 22-year-old is the only other driver to have won on the tracks this season and is aiming to become the first German to claim the Cologne title since Michael Schumacher retired in 2006.
Vettel will have to contend with a number of other Germans including Timo Glock but his main protagonist will, as usual, be Brawn’s Jenson Button, a man who will be dying to turn the tables on the homeboy after losing out to Vettel at Silverstone.
The Brawn machine will be sporting new, aerodynamic parts this week-end and could dominate on a track that nearly claimed the life of Niki Lauda in 1976. Although the Nuerburgring has been modified since Lauda’s fiery crash, it is still considered a challenge.
Bet365 has a number of interesting betting markets on the German Grand Prix including qualifying winning margin, safety car period during race, first driver to retire and fastest lap. Outright betting odds are Sebastian Vettel 11/10, Jenson Button 2/1, Mark Webber 9/2 and Rubens Barrichello 12/1.
