All the real big boys of the PGA Tour will be out en masse in Missouri this week in an effort to claim the third leg of the PGA Tour playoffs for the extremely lucrative year end FedEx Cup. Woods is the current defending champion but with him out of the picture for some time yet, the top ranked players will want to take full advantage of his enforced absence.
Full US Ryder Cup Team part of the Field
It will also be the perfect time for the Ryder Cup men to hone their considerable skills and to find fighting form in time for the long awaited clash at Valhalla later this month. The field is made up of the ‘who’s who’ of international golf and includes the full US team for the battle in Kentucky.
There is also a fistful of majors winners including Australia’s Geoff Ogilvie, current Masters champion, Trevor Immelman and his countryman, Ernie Els, the man who very nearly brought one of the Irish bookmakers to their knees with his consecutive wins at the Open Championship and then his triumph at the PGA Championship, Padraig Harrington and the lovable Angel Cabrera!
William Hill, one of the UK’s leading sports bookmakers, may very well find themselves in a similar fix to their Irish counterpart - they are clearly not of the opinion that Harrington can win this one too and are offering odds of 20/1 on the leading European golfer. The odds on the top guns are as follows - VJ Singh 6/1; Sergio Garcia 8/1; Phil Mickelson 12/1 and Ernie Els 16/1.
William Hill are the GrandDaddy of online UK bookmakers - and are now offering a free bet of £10 on a cash match basis. To claim this offer simply open an account, place a bet and they will credit your account after your first bet - up to £10.Tags: BMW Championship, golf, Padraig Harrington
