Log leaders, Chelsea, will have to keep a close eye on controlling midfielder, Deco, if they are to claim a third successive victory of the 2008/09 season at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The Blues have lurched to the top of the Premier League rankings after a blistering performance against Portsmouth, which they won 4-0 and a quieter, though equally dominant triumph over Wigan.
It won’t be a walkover for Scolari’s men though, in the past three outings against Spurs the two teams have had to share the wins - in January it was Chelsea who triumphed 2-0 but a month later Tottenham made amends with a 2-1 victory over the Blues and in their final clash in March they had to settle on a draw!
Berbatov out of the Running
The one major disappointment for Spurs fans is striker, Dimitar Berbatov, will not play until the ongoing trasfer debacle is resolved but they do have one man who can get the ball into the back of the net and he is their sole goal scorer to date, Jermaine Jenas. Spurs boss, Juanda Ramos, will be hoping his other attacking players will find their touch at the London Derby on Sunday.
Anelka the Man to Watch
Chelsea striker, Nicolas Anelka, is clearly on song with his boot and will be hoping he can add a couple more to his goal tally. One of the UK’s leading bookmakers, bluesq, is obviously impressed at Anelka’s ability too and apart from all the usual betting options, they have a range of ‘Player Specials’ including the talented French Striker. Current betting odds on the outcome of the match are Chelsea 2/5; a Draw 3/1 and Tottenham Hotspurs 15/2.
