King George V Stakes History and Winners

The King George V Stakes was first raced in 1946. The race was originally run independently of the Royal Ascot meeting, and was one of the first races, not included in the Royal meeting, to be run at Ascot Racecourse. The King George V Stakes was incorporated into the Royal meeting race schedule in 1948.

Sir Michael Stoute has been the trainer to beat in the King George V Stakes during the past decade. Stoute’s entries have won the race three times since the year 2000, and he also had his runners place or show three times in the King George V Stakes.
