2009 Golden Jubilee Stakes Preview
The last of Royal Ascot’s feature races comes in the form of today’s cavalry charge, the 6 furlong Golden Jubilee Stakes. The joint richest race at the Royal Meeting looks to be one of the most competitive, with several class sprinters lining up for a top quality renewal.
Mike de Kock’s JJ The Jet Plane is the antepost favourite for the 2009 Golden Jubilee Stakes based on two recent group 1 wins. Sacred Kingdom is priced co-favourite by many bookmakers based on recent form in Hong Kong group races.
One of the more intriguing entries in what could be a close race is unbeaten Greek entry Ialysos, who is untested against British and Irish opposition but is yet to taste defeat. Luca Cumani’s Kingdom’s Apsotle is the home team’s favourite to claim a group 1 win on Saturday.
