Phil Ivey Poker Career:

Phil Ivey began playing in major tournaments in Las Vegas after befriending poker professional Barry Greenstein, who mentored the young player through his first year in major tournament poker.

Success was not slow in coming to the young Phil Ivey and in 2000 he won the first big tournament he entered, taking home over $50k as winner of the Jack Binion Poker Open.

Since taking down his first big tournament, Phil Ivey has been a prolific winner, claiming five World Series of Poker bracelets in only seven years.
