Paul Wasicka Bio:
Paul Wasicka was born in Dallas, Texas. He moved to Boulder, Colorado with his family during his teens, and was an honours student and varsity athlete at Fairview High. After finishing school Wasicka attended several different universities, studying Engineering, Biology and Business before he finally dropped out and took up a job as a waiter at his brother-in-law’s restaurant in Louisville.
Paul Wasicka Poker Career:
While working at the restaurant, Paul Wasicka was told by a friend about a poker tournament in Denver. Wasicka tagged along, eventually finishing 9th in the tournament and taking home $200 in prize money. Over the next several months Wasicka played online poker daily, perfecting his strategy and slowly building up his bankroll.
In 2006 Paul Wasicka emerged from several months of more or less constant online play to take a seat at the final table of the World Series of Poker. At 3:30 in the morning, Paul Wasicka lost the final hand of the 2006 World Series of Poker, a loss that earned him over $6 million in prize money.
Since his cash at the 2006 World Series of Poker, Paul Wasicka has claimed his first poker tournament, winning the $500k NBC National Head’s Up Poker Championship. He has also added three more big cashes to his bankroll, by finishing in the money at the LA Poker Classic, World Poker Tour and the 2007 Crown Aussie Millions.
