Sir Michael Stoute’s double Breeders Cup Turf winner, Conduit, tops the betting markets for the forthcoming Japan Cup. The race will be Conduit’s final outing before he retires to stud in Japan.
The local challenge is led by the top class mare Vodka (5/1), who will also be participating in her last race. Defending champion Screen Hero (6/1) ran a great race in the Tenno Sho earlier in the month, finishing second to Company, and a spot before of Vodka.
Japanese Derby winner Logi Universe (8/1) has not been seen out since his Classic success in May, but is reported to be in great shape by trainer Kiyoshi Hagiwara and will be partnered by the current local riding sensation Norihiro Yokoyama.
With the historic score between local and raiders sitting at 14 apiece, Blue Square has priced the visitors (5 runners) an 11/10 prospect to nudge 1 ahead, with the home challenge (13 runners) a 4/6 chance to take their score to 15.
