The Liverpool Hurdle, also known as the Long Distance Hurdle, is a national hunt hurdle race run annually at the Grand National Festival at Aintree. The race is run over a distance of 3 miles 110 yards and features 13 hurdles.
The Liverpool Hurdle is raced by 4 year old and older hurdlers. The Liverpool Hurdle is the one of the major races for stayers at the Aintree Grand National Festival, with many runners from the Cheltenham Festival’s World Hurdle also entered into the race.

The Liverpool Hurdle is a recent addition to the Grand National Festival race schedule. The race was first run in 2004 and won by Iris’s Gift. Trainer John Daly has rapidly put together a good record in the Liverpool hurdle winning the race in 2006 and 2007 with Mighty Man.
