Anniversary 4YO Novices Hurdle
The Anniversary 4YO Novices’ Hurdle is a national hunt hurdle race run during the annual Grand National Festival at Aintree. The race is run over a distance of 2 miles 110 yards, with competitors required to clear 9 hurdles during the course of the race.

Anniversary 4YO Novices’ Hurdle History and Winners
The Anniversary 4YO Novices’ Hurdle has been run at the Aintree Grand National Festival since 1977. From that date until now, three Triumph Hurdle winners have won the Anniversary 4YO Novices’ Hurdle. These include Pollardstown, Detroit City and Katchit.
The race was originally classified as a grade-two hurdles event, but was upgraded in 2005, becoming one of the most important events of the hurdling season. Trainer Phillip Hobbs has achieved notable success in the event since the turn of the millenium, saddling two Anniversary 4YO Novices’ Hurdle winners.
