The Vintage Stakes is a Group 2 thoroughbred race run annually during the Glorious Goodwood meeting. Entry to the Vintage Stakes is restricted to 2 year old thoroughbreds, which race over a distance of 7 furlongs on Goodwood Racecourse.
First run in 1975, the Vintage Stakes was initially rated as a Group 3 race, but was bumped up to Group 2 status in 2003. The race’s rating disguises the high quality of entrants, as a number of Vintage Stakes winners have gone on to win Classics later on in their careers.
