The Oaktree Stakes is a Group 3 thoroughbred race run during the annual Glorious Goodwood racing festival. The race is open to 3 year old and older thoroughbreds, and is run over a distance of 7 furlongs on Goodwood Racecourse.
The Oaktree Stakes was first run in 1980 as the New Stand Stakes, to commemorate the opening of a new grandstand at Goodwood during that same year. In 1981 the name of the race was changed again, this time to commemorate the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
In 1982 the name of the race changed once more, this time to the Oaktree Stakes. This acknowledged the close ties between Goodwood Racecourse and the Oaktree Racing Association of Santa Anita, California. The race acquired Group 3 status in 2004.

Oaktree Stakes Winners
During the 1990s, jockey Richard Hills built up an excellent record in the Oaktree stakes, winning the race three times in that decade. During this period Hills achieved the rare feat of claiming back to back victories in the race, riding the Oaktree Stakes winners in both 1994 and 1995.
