It is more common for a rank outsider to romp to victory in the 1,000 Guineas, as over 50% of 1,000 Guineas winners entering the race are priced over 10/1.
There is always strong backing for the Champion Filly from the 2 year old season in the 1,000 Guineas, however, this filly rarely carries form from one season to the next.
Trainers have traditionally struggled to build a winning record in the 1,000 Guineas, and it is extremely rare for a trainer to win the race for two seasons in succession.
