Paddy Brennan - JockeyPaddy Brennan is one of Ireland’s brightest prospects for the future. Brennan has improved steadily as a jockey since turning pro in 2005, and is rated as being amongst the finest young jockeys in national hunt racing. Brennan partners some of the strongest stables in national hunt racing and has already built an impressive record in some of the sport’s most prestigious races.

Racing Profile:

Paddy Brennan turned professional after winning the Conditional Champion Jockey title in the 2004/2005-season. Brennan made a satisfactory start to his career as a professional jockey, by riding 60 winners during his first season.

Since making his debut Brennan has improved steadily, and broke the 100-winner mark for the first time in the course of the 2007/2008 national hunt season. During the past two seasons, Brennan has also begun picking up major race wins at national hunt racing’s biggest festivals. He is also ranked in the top ten jumps jockeys in the United Kingdom.

Achievements:

Paddy Brennan won the Grade 1 Maghull Novices’ Chase in his first season as a professional jockey. Since achieving his first major race win, Brennan has also performed well in both the Cheltenham Festival and the Grand National Meeting.

In 2007, Brennan achieved the most important win of his career, partnering Inglis Drever to victory in the Grade 1 World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. In 2008 Brennan won another major race at the Grand National Meeting – the Sefton Novices’ Hurdle on Petitfour.

Bio:

Paddy Brennan was born in County Galway, Ireland, in 1981. Brennan claims to be a lifelong fan of Tony McCoy, in whose footsteps many believe he will one day follow. Brennan was a highly rated Hurling player before making the decision to follow a career as a national hunt jockey.
