Kauto Star becomes the first horse in history to win back the Cheltenham Gold Cup. A perfect ride by Ruby Walsh saw Kauto Star surge ahead in the final 5 fences, with Denman at his heels. The defending champion eventually proved to be no match for Kauto Star, but finished well ahead of Exotic Dancer in third. Paul Nicholls’ horses are in a league of their own, with Neptune Collonges holding on for fourth race after leading the race most of the way.
