2011 Coronation Stakes Preview & Tips
The classy 2011 Coronation Stakes lights up day four of the Royal Meeting as some of the UK’s champion filly milers go head to head in a battle for Group 1 glory.
2011 Coronation Stakes Race Favourites
1. Together
Together finds herself at the top of the betting markets despite never having won a Group 1 race. This filly has played runner-up in both the Irish and English 1,000 Guineas this season, and her connections are hoping she’ll take center stage on Friday. At odds of 4/1 at Paddy Power, she’s certainly worth an each-way to nothing punt.
2. Memory
How memory arrives in second place in the betting is hard to understand. This filly finished stone-cold last in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket this season, and achieved all three of her wins as a 3-year-old. Hardly race-winning stuff, and at odds of 6/1 she begs a lay bet.
3. Maqaasid
Maqaasid has placed in more than a few Group races, most recently coming third in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket. There’s a chance she may improve in this race, with a less imposing field, and she certainly looks worth an each-way punt at a price of 7/1 at William Hill.
2011 Coronation Stakes Long Shots
The 2011 Coronation Stakes looks fairly open, and American raider, More Than Real, could be the horse to look out for. She won the Group 2 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies’ Turf in November last year, and has two wins and a second place from her three races. It won’t be a surprise to see her amongst the places, and she looks worth a punt at odds of 9/1 at Ladbrokes.

Together does look to have found the field she needs to pull off a Group 1 win. The filly is priced over 4/1 at time of writing, which means she’d return an each-way bet if she only placed. Taking this option is our 2011 Coronation Stakes betting tip.
