Green Destiny was our tip for the 2011 Royal Hunt Cup, but swerved that race at the last moment to run in the Wolferton Handicap Stakes. He’s won his last three races on the trot and is carrying the same weight he carried when taking a 9f win at Newmarket last time out. He’ll be travelling a furlong extra in this race, but still tempts for a back bet at odds of 7/4 at Paddy Power.
2. Lost In The Moment
Lost In The Moment has three wins and two second places form his seven starts over turf. He’s at the top of the betting courtesy of a second place he achieved last week while carrying a prodigious 9-9. He’ll be carrying a relatively lightweight 8-11 at Ascot on Friday, and looks like good each-way value for a place at 8/1 at Paddy Power.
3. Spanish Duke
Spanish Duke seems to do well under weight, as is illustrated by his recent record which saw him win a race under 9-6 before finishing stone cold last a month later while carrying 8-11. He’ll be carrying 8-11 again on Friday, which means that despite his experience over 10 furlongs, he’s probably worth more as a lay bet than an each-way bet.
