2011 Queen’s Vase Preview & Tips
It’s the turn of the true stayers in the 2011 Queen’s Vase, as a dozen entries take on the 2 mile course in search of a Group 3 win.
2011 Queen’s Vase Race Favourites
1. Regent Street
Regent Street has some experience in Irish Group racing achieving a win and two places from his last three races. He’s also done well enough over 10 furlongs, but there’s no telling how he’ll handle the extra 6 at Ascot on Friday. Priced at 5/2 at Betfred, he looks a good lay betting option.
2. Solar Sky
Solar Sky has run just twice in his career, achieving a win and a second place. He won on his last time out after starting the race as the favourite, winning over 12 furlongs. There’s no doubting his credentials as a stayer and at a price of 4/1 at Betfred he’s certainly worth looking at for an each-way to nothing bet.
3. Namibian
Namibian is an Irish racehorse that’s found the places four times in his career, winning once. There’s little to suggest that he has the winning of the 2011 Queen’s Vase, but he does look a handy enough stayer taking a 3rd place over 12 furlongs in his last race. Betfred has him at 5/1 in the 2011 Queen’s Vase, and he may be worth an each-way bet at this price.
2011 Queen’s Vase Long Shots
Eternal Heart has taken three wins from his last three races and is the form entry in the field. What’s more he won over 14 furlongs at Sandown in May after starting the race as favourite. He’s handled the handicaps well and this is his first shot at a group race. At odds of 8/1 at Betfred he looks like great value.
